Austin H. Middleton, MD
Dr. Austin H. Middleton is a Milwaukee native and fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions. He is an expert in a broad range of shoulder and elbow disorders, including rotator cuff tears, shoulder arthritis, painful or failed shoulder replacements, fractures, sports and throwing injuries, shoulder instability, and other conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow.
Dr. Middleton earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he also completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery. During his training, he was recognized for excellence in patient care and was elected administrative chief resident. He went on to complete an advanced fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, where he also participated in the care of the Boston Celtics. Following fellowship, he pursued additional shoulder training with internationally recognized surgeons in Zurich, Switzerland, and Paris, France.
Dr. Middleton believes that excellent care begins with education. He takes the time to help patients understand the source of their symptoms, diagnosis, and the full range of available treatment options. By working closely with each patient, he develops an individualized treatment plan based on their condition, lifestyle, and personal goals.
His goal is to help patients relieve pain, restore function, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
