2 months ago I had a total knee replacement. I'm writing this as I am back at the Orthopedic Hospital of Wisconsin for my second knee. I don't have words to describe the incredible experience I had and am having this go-around. From the moment you register at the front desk til the moment they take you to your car when leaving, the entire staff is caring, courteous and nothing short of FANTASTIC. Dr Swenson spent a considerable amount of time explaining the surgery procedure and made visits to update my wife and myself throughout my stays. I also need to give recognition to the ENTIRE nursing staff from the patient assistants, RNs PTs, OTs and Hospitalists. I even had meetings with the finance department and a social worker. Everyone was always familiar with me, my procedures and progress. It's a small hospital with only 30 recovery rooms, which explains the bespoke attention to detail. My mother in law had a stroke recently and was at Froedtert for a week. Every time the staff came to check on her she had to tell and retell why she was there and what procedures they performed, it was exhausting and made her feel like a number and unimportant. That is the exact opposite of the care I received here. If you're a foodie like me, it is better than some meals I have had at nice restaurants. It's always warm and delicious. Here is a sampling of the lunch and dinner menu: Chicken Marsala, Beef Short Ribs, Orange Braised Pork Shank, Steamed Atlantic Cod and Veggie Lasagna. All that is in addition to the amazing breakfast, sandwich and salad offerings. Where else does the Executive Chef stop in your room to see how you enjoyed your food. NOWHERE !! If you ever need Orthopedic procedures you cannot make a better choice than the Orthopedic Hospital of Wisconsin. Most Sincerely, Mr. B

All of the staff and professionals are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. All seem in a good mood and to be happy to be working there. These things are comforting when you’re about to go under and be operated on! (Plus, nice touch with great coffee and English muffins in post-recovery).

It was such a great experience compared to my 1st hip replacement in Brazil, where I had the opportunity to talk to 3 healthcare professionals 1 month before the surgery to walk me through what to expect, and have me do blood work, EKG, and show me the PT exercises. It was awesome how I was welcomed at the hospital, which it seems more of a hotel, the surgery took half of the time than the 1st one, and everyone involved was very professional and helpful. The food was great and the pain levels were kept always low to make me more comfortable. Thank you all Dr. Kroner’s team to all the care you’ve been giving me throughout all these preparation months and recovery that is happening by making my healing process way easier.

My surgery today went very smoothly. Felt very welcomed and well informed. All the staff were wonderful, Dr. Gorman excellent. It's nice to hear my concerns were normal for post-op patients. No stress felt. I didn't remember everyones names, but all were great. Rosina was super and was a great discharge. Thank you very much!!

I had knee replacement surgery two weeks ago. OHOW is a great hospital. The entire staff is well versed on how to take care of patients after orthopedic surgery. The nurses and aides in particular are attentive and helpful. I never had to wait for help or not have a question answered. They prepare you for what is to come and for what to expect when you are released. I called twice after I got home with questions and both times, the nurse was helpful and kind.

From the chef coming up to my room to make sure all was well with the food, to Maggie, pleasantly humming Jada, Ursula, Ann and the security guard to explain check in misunderstanding, this was the best joint surgery experience I've had (3!). I still have 3 more to go and cannot see having them anywhere else.

Had right ankle fusion surgery performed by Dr. Anthony Ferguson with anesthesia care delivered by Dr. Jennifer Niedfeldt. Nursing and other technical support was delivered by a host of others. I am incredibly grateful for skill and human kindness offered by each and every one of them. While I fear that my recovery will be long and difficult, the initial treatment that I received at The Orthopedic Hospital in Glendale was outstanding. I am off to a great start to eventually walking with no pain. Thanks to all involved for an outstanding experience.

Everyone I encountered at the hospital was warm and welcoming most especially the people that took direct care of me. The nurses the phlebotomist every single specialist I met was very gentle and very caring. They were wonderful above and beyond what I would imagine from any caregiving facility they were very efficient. Everything was well planned and timed And comforting, never felt rushed. It was a very good Experience. I am very grateful for the goodness of each person that took care of me and for what a wonderful facility and the staff they have gathered for this purpose. They are good people they take very good care thank you.

I have been at OHOW 4 times over the years for surgeries that were needed due to a significant childhood injury. Each time the doctors and staff have treated me with respect and understanding. Because of that very fine treatment, I have always recommended OHOW, and specifically Dr. Rory Wright, to friends who found themselves in need of orthopedic services.And, by the way, the food is really good there!

Everyone was so kind and considerate. I especially loved how there seemed to be true camaraderie between staff members. You don’t always see that in the medical industry. I had complete confidence in all my caregivers from my surgeon, Dr Jost, to his PA, Jake, to the nurses, PCA, PT/OT and dietary staff. The hospital was very clean and orderly and the room was wonderfully comfortable. I would not hesitate to come back to OHOW for future orthopedic procedures if needed and have already highly suggested that relatives and friends, in the area, seriously consider OHOW should they require an orthopedic procedure. Thank you all again!

I just want to thank all of my staff that I had. All the shifts were great. They gave me all the means to heal. PT was rough, but I know that she was just teaching me. I know I had to do the exercises to get better. I would recommend the Orthopedic hospital to everyone. It's an awesome hospital. Everyone was so nice from the dietary and house keeping to the nurses, PT and OT. And especially my Drs. It was the best hospital experience I've ever had. They are all so dedicated to the pt. Smaller hospitals are definitely better. Again thank you all for the excellent care.

Great care! To be honest I was concerned prior to my surgery because the hospital is affiliated with Ascension. I've not read or heard anything positive about Ascension. However I received great care by everyone from the moment I entered the hospital until my discharge. Everything was done efficiently and all staff were excellent! Dr Ferguson was also very responsive that evening when a pharmacy had system problems receiving my prescription.
