Pre-Op Clinic

Preparing for Surgery with a Pre-Op Care Clinic

At the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin, we strive to make your entire journey with us outstanding. For surgical patients, this starts before surgery and continues until patients meet rehabilitation goals.

Better Preparation, Best Outcomes

Our Pre-Op Care Clinic ensures a thorough medical evaluation and preoperative education, which can help reduce the risk of problems arising during or after surgery. Your care team is specially trained to identify your health risks for surgery and most importantly, reduce those risks with the ultimate goal of having a safe and successful surgical outcome. The clinic is required for most surgical patients whose surgeries require an overnight stay, including those having ACL repair, ankle or foot surgery, joint replacement or revision, fracture repair, and spine surgery.

What to Bring to the Pre-Op Care Clinic:

  • Your complete medical history
  • Contact information for primary provider and any other specialists
  • All prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, and supplements in their pharmacy containers.
  • A list of all allergies

What to Expect at the Pre-Op Care Clinic:
