In the Patient’s Shoes: My ACL Reconstruction Journey as a Physical Therapist Part 3: Returning to Sports
My name is Erik Kust and I am an orthopedic clinician at the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin. I have countless experiences treating patients for ACL injuries, but after sustaining my own injury, I was in the patient’s shoes. After going through the ACL reconstruction process, it was time for me to return to sports.
What exactly is carpal tunnel syndrome? We certainly hear a lot about it and Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin’s Dr. Greg Watchmaker says it is the most common hand problem we treat each year. Simply stated, carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a pinched nerve (the median nerve) in the palm and wrist area.

Their professionalism and attention to patient care are why Milwaukee Magazine named 18 of our OHOW physicians as their 2020 Top Doctors.

Rather, it’s the term for pain in the sciatic nerve—a nerve running down both sides of the lower spine, through the pelvis, down the back of each leg, and into the feet. Sciatica happens […]
No matter how much you prepare for shoulder surgery, it’s perfectly normal to experience a few pre-surgery-day jitters. At Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin, patient comfort and care are our highest priorities. […]
